Bass & Flinders is an award-winning family-owned, Australian distillery. Dedicated to sharing the passion for craft spirits, constantly creating new experiences at our architecturally designed Distillery Door here in our coastal home to ensure fun, interactive taste experiences for all to enjoy.

Bass and Flinders Distillery was founded in 2009 on the Mornington Peninsula with a passion for adventure and a desire to create a range of high quality, artisanal gins brandies and liqueurs, that truly reflect our home and heritage. Proudly the first distillery on the Mornington Peninsula, our original inspiration was drawn from a love of classic brandies produced in France. Using many of the same traditional production techniques, we set out to produce a premium aged spirit, our Ochre brandy, that proves just how good Australian brandy can be. Our location in the wine growing region of the Mornington Peninsula provided the perfect setting to pursue our dream. Following in the footsteps of her founder father Wayne, Holly took over as Head Distiller and Managing director of the distillery in 2016, becoming one of a very select group of second-generation distillers in Australia. As a family-owned distillery, we focus on quality above all else, distilling in small batches and sourcing local, native botanicals to produce unique, genuinely Australian handcrafted spirits. Following in the footsteps of her founder father Wayne, Holly took over as Head Distiller and Managing director of the distillery in 2016, becoming one of a very select group of second-generation distillers in Australia. As a family-owned distillery, we focus on quality above all else, distilling in small batches and sourcing local, native botanicals to produce unique, genuinely Australian handcrafted spirits.

Gin

Angry Ant Gin

This premium gin is a truly unique Australian gin, a tribute to Australia's rich bio-diverse landscapes. With typical Australian origins, this gin is hand-crafted and hand-numbered by our distillers and made from classic Australian Shiraz spirit where the rich, ripe aromas of the Shiraz grape deliver a floral, peppery gin that is one of a kind. Inspired by the flora and fauna found in the Australian outback this gin has been triple distilled in small batches using an Alembic Pot Still.

Oyster Shell Gin

Dive in to a true taste of the Mornington Peninsula at its finest, captured in our oyster-shucking, ocean-inspired gin. This extremely limited edition gin harnesses the briny minerality of Pacific Oyster shells and brings to life the unique spirit, natural environment and rugged beauty of our favourite place in the world - our home.

Cerise Gin

The cooler climate and rich, red volcanic soils of our Mornington Peninsula coastal home are ideal for cherry growing. Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills and scenic vistas of the rural hinterland are fertile fields producing sun-ripened, juicy red cherries bursting with sweet-tart flavours that we use in our Cerise Gin. French for ‘cherries’, Cerise gin celebrates our local produce of the Peninsula.

Maritime Gin

A celebration of the diverse native botanicals found at the foot of Mt Wonga, the traditional naming of Arthur's Seat by the Bunurong and Boon Wurrung peoples. An ode to our coastal home where fresh salty air meets the hinterland, where drifting sand dunes gather and disperse along the shoreline.

Monsoon Gin - Eastern Twist

Refreshingly exotic, Monsoon Gin is infused with spices of the East. Bringing flavours of South East Asia together to create a storm in your glass, a gin with unique presence where lemongrass, ginger, ginseng and juniper berries collide together creating a dry gin with a twist.

Gin 10 - Wild & Spicy

Wildly aromatic, warm and savoury with hints of sweet orange, Gin 10 - Wild & Spicy is made from a complex blend of ten botanicals. A big bold, contemporary Australian gin that pairs perfectly with any cocktail.

Orient Gin - Citrus Tsunami

Where cuisine reigns supreme, Master Distiller turns Master Chef to balance flavours of the Orient on a knife’s edge with this flavoursome foodies’ gin. A New World gin that takes inspiration from family heritage, highlighting Australia's love affair with exotic Eastern flavours and captures the essence of uniquely Australian native botanicals.

Our signature gin. Our original gin. A celebration of the very best of classic dry gins, citrus forward with an Australian twist. Carefully handcrafted in small batches using traditional techniques, with our unique selection of the finest botanicals, to create a lively, contemporary version of the quintessential classic gin.

Madame Marmalade Orange Liqueur

An Australian take on the classic orange liqueur. Made with our finest brandy, orange zest and a selection of botanicals this velvety liqueur is favoured by mixologists for being infinitely versatile, laying a luxurious base for an array of cocktails. A staple in every bartenders collection.

Limoncello - Bitter and Twisted

A refreshing lemon liqueur created from a closely-guarded and highly celebrated Bass & Flinders recipe using zest from the highest quality Victorian lemons. Originating from a traditional Italian family recipe, this citrus-flavoured liqueur was our very first handcrafted spirit.

Noble Stranger Australian Brandy

Heroes arise whenever they are called for. Big-hearted, generous and brave, they rush in where others fear to tread.
